Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed during his visit to Gadchiroli that 12 Naxals with bounties higher than ₹1 Crore on their head have surrendered. While speaking to the press, he pointed out that this is an effort towards the disbandment of Naxalism in the country.
He appealed to the remaining Naxals to put down their weapons and become a part of society. Fadnavis cautioned that stern measures will be taken against those who do not surrender themselves.
Naxal Surrenders Being Forged In Gadchiroli
Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police stated that till now, 704 Maoists have surrendered. The last batch of submitted surrender forms included the following so-called 'senior' Naxalites.

Claiming collateral for surrendered Naxals
The relevant state and central authorities has confirmed some rehabilitation grant packages:
Installments of ₹8.5 Lakhs to each elder couple, Sapana and Ramdas, Shivlal and Pushpa.
5.5 Lakhs to Kosa Kumma Gota
Durg: 5 Lakhs
Ajay: 5 Lakhs
Dilip: 5 Lakhs
Savita: 4.5 Lakhs
Aluna 4.5 Lakhs
Sangita 4.5 Lakhs
Anju: 4.5 Lakhs
Couples like Shivlal and Pushpa will receive special assistance fund for Maoist couples amounting to ₹1.5K after surrendering, as a supplementary consideration.
Reintegration and Rehabilitation Activities
After the final capitulation, a group wedding was facilitated. CM Fadnavis juntamente with 13 ex Naxal couples held a wedding which served as a symbolic reintegration to the society.
In his comments, he made it clear that the soft-handed approach previously adopted by the government is no longer applicable, as these people are now hoping to realize.
Kawande Outpost and Deepening Local Governance
CM Fadnavis also looked over the newly constructed Kawande Police Outpost located at the border of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. He pointed out that there wasn’t any government access in this part of the region. With the outpost and the installation of a 4G tower, there is now police and welfare access to the area.
This will reinforce theexpectation that the relationship of the population with government institutions will become more positive.
Deadline for Naxalism Elimination Set on March 2026
Fadnavis confirmed the dismantling of the Naxalites policy is set for the end of 2025, stating that the Indian Union Government’s plan is to have Naxalism eliminated from India’s map by March 2026. The ongoing success, given to the leadership of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has been what drew attention.
