Only five days prior to the massacre in Pahalgam, the deadliest terror incident in the region where 28 civilians lost their lives, Top Commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba Abu Musa delivered a fiery hateful jihadist speech. This incident occurred on April 18 at a rally held in Khai Gala PoK, in remembrance of two slain terrorists who were recently neutralized by Indian security forces.

Musa, during the course of the rally, leveled a completely baseless allegation against India of changing the demography of Jammu and Kashmir by removing 370 and 35A. This not-so-veiled appeal, like many others over the last several decades evokes ‘call to arms’ in the eyes of it’s supporters, “Lashkar-e-Taiba accepts your challenge,” he exclaimed in the same video which went viral later.

Vow to Kill, Explicit Desired Actions to Be Taken

Musa, without mincing words, suggested violence, placing the death of civilians squarely at the center of his proposed plan and reaffirming his stated intentions, “We will shower bullets, slit your necks and honour the sacrifices of our martyrs” - all of which point towards retaliation to the fallout of the Indian political actions in the region. These dangerously brash proclamations will be given greater scrutiny as time passes following the attack in Pahalgam.

Paying Tribute to Butchered Terrorists and Their Connection with the Recent Violence

Several other terrorist headswere present and are rejoicing in paying tribute to Haleem and Wahab both from PoK slained by Indian Forces. Haleem was neutralized in Kupwara on March 17 while Wahab of PAFF was killed in Sopore on April 24 under all out operation.

In India, there are serious concerns amongst security officials and the public about the synchronicity and timeframe in which the terror attack in Pahalgam was planned and executed as it closely followed Musa’s rally.

Pakistan Perspective Escalates Relations Further

General Asim Munir’s remarks during the Overseas Pakistanis Convention just two days ahead of the rally found their way into the Pakistani public. Pakistan’s philosophy on the stance considering Kashmir has always been prevalent and Munir backed them saying over Kashmir “is Pakistan’s jugular vein”, increasing narrative perception towards supporting cross border terror gungho.
