Laddu Holi 2025: The Radha Rani Ladli Temple in Barsana Mathura is an epitome of reverence and faith. Every month, heaps of devotees from all parts of the country pilgrimage to this temple’s mountains to pray for blessings. In reverence, they have to climb approximately two hundred stairs. Each of these is filled with devotion and divinity.
Laddu Mar Holi and Its Custom
The celebration of the Barsana Laddu Mar Holi is recognized across the world. Holi here starts with the tossing of laddus which symbolize the love of Radha and Krishna. First the temple servants throw the laddus at the devotees. Then the devotees get to celebrate by throwing the laddus at each other!
The custom essayed is based on the belief that Lord Krishna along with the cowherd boys honored the gopis invitation of playing Holi at Barsana after coming from Nandgaon. Holi in this form is celebrated every year. A unique feature of this Holi is that in addition to gulal, thousand of devotees shower laddu is on their kuladevi and dance in worship.

Ladli ji's temple is commonly referred to as Radha Rani Temple. This temple was built by King Veer Singh, which makes it a historical structure that is 343 years old. It is located on a hill that is 250m tall and provides a scenic view of the entire Barsana region.
In order to reach the temple, pilgrims must ascend over 200 stairs. One of the temple's remarkable features is its red sandstone structure juxtaposed with intricate carvings, intricate paintings, and its stunning domes and arches. The throne of Vrishabhanu Maharaj lies at the base of the stairs.
Countless devotees in and out of the country flock to Barsana during Holi to witness the Lathmar Holi spectacle. This event occurs a day after Holi and is when the Gopis shower sticks of love. During this time, the Gopis compete with Huriyars using gulal and sticks and go on to dance with Krishna’s group, along with his temple attendants.
Additional information about Radha Rani temple includes the fact that it is adorned with fruits and flowers in addition to them being festively decorated during Radhastami. Furthermore, the peak of the temple is made of gold, which corroborates its lavish decorations.
56 offerings are made to Radha ji, which are initially given to the peacocks.
