Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a significant breakthrough for the investigation into the tragic Air India flight AI-171 crash near Ahmedabad, search and recovery teams have located the aircraft's second "black box." This crucial piece of equipment, the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), was recovered from the wreckage site after an intensive search.

The discovery is a pivotal moment for investigators from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The FDR, along with the previously located Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR), holds the essential data needed to piece together the final moments of the flight.

While the CVR captures all audio from the cockpit—including pilot conversations and alarms—the FDR records hundreds of critical flight parameters. This includes vital information such as the plane's altitude, airspeed, engine performance, and the pilots' control inputs. Officials confirmed that the FDR, though damaged from the impact, appears to be intact. It will be carefully transported to a specialized DGCA laboratory in New Delhi for analysis. Experts will work to download and decipher the stored data, a meticulous process that could take several weeks.
