Restricting your movement is the first sign of a toxic partner. They will go as far as trying to control how you relate with friends and social circles. If it gets to a point where they are preventing you from going out with friends or attending events, then you are dealing with a toxic partner.

Do they tend to want everything done according to their specifications? Are you finding yourself being coerced into making choices that you don’t want to make? These are some of the signs of control which exists in almost all toxic relationships.

3. Ignoring or Shaming
Disrespecting a partner ranges from public embarrassment to making fun of their feelings. These actions eat away at your self esteem which is an emotionally harmful into intoxication abuse.

Red flag: Disrespecting feelings resulting in embarrassment within social gatherings.

Avoid Remaining in a Destructive Relationship  

Being in a toxic relationship can be draining on one’s emotions and heavy on the mind. Identifying these unhealthy aspects will assist you in making better choices early on.

Action Step: These behaviors may prompt you to consider the need to separate yourself from the unhealthy association. Setting limits other people’s interference and seeking help to end the association may be the right step.
