Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The much-anticipated Mumbai trailer launch for the pan-Indian mythological epic Kannappa was abruptly cancelled on Tuesday due to an unforeseen travel disruption. The film’s team, including producer and lead actor Vishnu Manchu, was scheduled to fly to the event when their Air India flight experienced a technical issue, preventing them from traveling.
In a joint statement, the teams of Vishnu Manchu and co-star Akshay Kumar announced the postponement, emphasizing that the safety of the cast and crew was their utmost priority. They expressed sincere regret for the inconvenience caused to the media and fans who had gathered for the grand event.
The statement explained, "Due to an unforeseen technical issue with the Air India flight carrying the film's team, we have had to cancel the trailer launch event for Kannappa scheduled in Mumbai today."
In a thoughtful nod to past air travel tragedies, the statement also paid respects to the victims of the 2020 Air India Express crash in Kozhikode, underscoring their sensitivity to any issues involving air travel. The team affirmed their solidarity with the airline and its crew.
Kannappa, a large-scale production directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, is one of the most awaited films of the year. It boasts a star-studded cast that includes Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, alongside Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, Baahubali fame Prabhas, and Malayalam cinema legend Mohanlal.
The producers have assured that a new date for the trailer launch will be announced soon, as they work to reschedule the promotional event.
