Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a continuing bid to curb cross-border terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Counter Intelligence Unit conducted numerous raids on different districts of Kashmir on Friday. The action appears to focus on people and places suspected of having links to a terror network and who have handlers across the border and connect with them using encryption communication.
Raids Carried Out In Different Districts of Kashmir
The raids were in Shopian, Kulgam, Budgam, Awantipora, Pulwama, Kupwara and Srinagar. These areas are believed to harbour or aid communication with international terror sponsors.
These raids are a part of an active terror case that is being investigated by the Counter-Intelligence Unit, officials confirmed. The named suspects are reported to be using an encryption messaging application that is heavily encrypted, presumed to be used by cross border terrorists.
App Employed For Terror Coordination Activities
There is proof in the possession of investigators that some alleged individuals are using some specialized encrypted emails that are highly secure. Reports say this is a secure method of communicating with terror agents in Pakistan.
Reactive measures on neutralizing these covert terrorist networks in Jammu and Kashmir are to stop such terror plans.
Nationwide Crackdown After Pahalgam Terror Attack
Indian security agencies have ramped up their ongoing operations since the recent Pahalgam terror attack that occurred on April 22 and resulted in 26 casualties. After conducting the attack, the focus of the authorities has turned towards dismantling the communication and information-sharing systems of local networks with their foreign bosses.
Authorities have arrested 12 people so far who are suspected of spying for Pakistan. The next step for them is to uncover the depth of the network as well as the other operatives in the area.
Heightened Vigilance And National Security Response
All of the security agencies in the nation are on heightened alert as they seek out and capture these suspects who are thought to be collaborating with terrorist groups and leaking vital information to Pakistan. This is an attempt to reinforce the national security policy which provides a more proactive approach to domestic monitoring to prevent such attacks in the future.
