Coachella is an event that spans two weekends in April and brings in thousands of music fanatics into the desert and Jennie was one of the center of attention. This time around she was all alone on stage as she took it for the first time in her life and at 29 she crushed all expectations with a stellar show.
Three Days of Work Spread Across 16 Months
While on the talk show You Quiz on the Block, on air in South Korea, Jennie disclosed her thought out plans for the event making it clear that she deeply wanted to get it right. She articulated how every tiny facet of the performance took over a year and a half to perfect, deeply showcasing the level of effort that goes unnoticed.
Jennie conveyed the enormity of the festival in this manner: “It is one of the biggest music festivals in the world. It goes for two weeks. Countless artists come and gather in the middle of the desert from Friday to Sunday.”
Gaining Clarity While Facing Uncertainty
While full of excitement, Jennie confessed she had some concerns in the lead up to the performance. With a massive audience of 250,000, she was uncertain if anyone would actually come to watch her perform. “Even when I was on the stage, the energy surprised me. I don’t know why I felt so emotional. All the determination that went into the preparation felt like it was being rewarded,” she stated.
She added, “For the performance, I was thinking, ‘Will people come and watch?’ But I do remember comfortably thinking that there was no end to the crowd.”
A Rare Move—Watching Herself
When posed the question of whether she had rewatched her performance, Jennie freely admitted that she watched it twice. “I don't really review my work. I do think a lot… But I did watch some parts of Coachella, not because it was perfect, but because I can sincerely say that I gave it my everything,” she said.

As part of her solo performance, Jennie added powerful songs from her debut album Ruby. Her set showcased “Zen,” “Handlebars,” “Mantra,” and the most electrifying, “Like JENNIE,” all of which demonstrated her vocal versatility and solo stage presence.
