Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : The IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was scheduled to take place in Dharamshala on May 8, however it was cancelled due to India and Pakistan going through a rough patch in relationships. The Incident called for the immediate evacuation of the HPCA Stadium due to air raid warnings going off in close proximities such as Jammu and Pathankot.
Preity Zinta Expresses Thanks and Apologies for Overreaction
Regarding the incident, actor and co-owner of Punjab Kings, Preity Zinta took to X within the next few days to praise the Indian authorities. She showered Indian Railways and the Railway Minister for Ashwini Vaishnaw granting them praise due to their orderly and safe transportation of players, officials, and their families.

She also mentioned the contributions of BCCI, Jay Shah, Arun Dhumal, Punjab Kings CEO Satish Menon, as well as the rest of the Operations for staying calm during the execution of the stadium evacuation.
Crowd Mentioned for Their Controlled Behaviors
Zinta emphasized the spectators at the stadium thanking them for remaining calm during such an alarming situation. In emspecially made comments towards the fans across the globe for not creating a commotion that could have turned hazardous.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you for not losing your heads and avoiding frantic runs," she described. “Please forgive how somewhat rude I was and how I said no to photographs... Everyone’s safety came first during this period.”
Successfully Executed Evacuation
Captured clips from the night capture Zinta’s voice asking wholeheartedly, “Please let’s all try to keep it down as we leave.” The broadcast staff along with the team and other officials were later safely sent to Delhi via train. The speed and calmness with which people were evacuated drew praise from many.
IPL Put On Hold For One Week
Due to the growing geopolitical tensions, the BCCI prudently decided to pause the ongoing IPL season for a week. This is done to mitigate risks to players, staff, officials, and supporters.
