First Ever All Women Crew Launches Vande Bharat on IWD 2025: This International Women’s Day in March 2025 is different as Indian trains are coming up with innovation. For the incredible achievement of the all-female crew operating India’s renowned Vande Bharat Express and Vande Bharat stain, it showed how women can do wonders in the transportation industry.
Every position, such as loco pilot, ticket collector, and onboard staff, was occupied by qualified women professionals. This is another step towards celebrating gender equality and such achievements is an inspiration towards the future.
The event indicates that women could work in whichever field they want to as shown with the increasing participation of women in different industries as is typical in other regions of the world where men dominate. This is a reminder of International Women’s day to celebrate how far women have come as well as what steps still need to be done to achieve equality.
All Women Crew Runs Vande Bharat for the First in History on International Women’s Day
The renowned Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) stationed a workshop at the commencement of the historic voyage of the international women’s day. The authority went with 6.2 am in the morning. The Superb lady cum pilot- Surekha Yadav and Junior lady cum Pilot Sangeeta Kumari flew the train. Ghone Shweta did the train operations.
A determined team of female Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) was sent, which included senior ticket examiners Sarika Ojha, Suvarna Pashte, Kavita Maral, and Manisha Ram, along with head ticket examiners Anushka KP and MJ Rajput. Women staffed every role on the journey: as loco pilot and assistant loco pilot, as train manager, as ticket examiner, and even as onboard caterer.
It serves to celebrate the determination, dedication, and stewardship of female staff in Indian Railways and also sets strong markers for better industry gender relations. The Indian Railways' commitment towards women empowerment and the creation of more positive work environment is created with this ends in mind, as per the railway officers.
The Vande Bharat Express, famed for its speed and efficiency as well as modern amenities, has already changed the way people travel by rail in India. This landmark journey underscores the progress being made in breaking down gender boundaries in traditionally male-dominated fields.
