To enhance campus attendance, Infosys is implementing a plan that requires employees to physically work in the office for ten days a month. Infosys is making this mandate to bring more people back onto the company’s campuses.
According to Economic Times, heads of functional departments at the company's Bangalore location told the employees to cut back on the work-from-home days. The team members were informed this policy would be enacted starting March 10 via email.
The email also noted that the firm will make system changes that will allow only a specified number of work-from-home days within a month. Currently, Infosys employees check-in to work using a mobile app for attendance. As of March 10, the app will restrict Work from Home requests past a certain limit, which will require employees to work in the office at least ten days a month.
An ET source who requested anonymity stated, If an employee does not work at least ten days in the office, then the remaining days will be taken from the employee's leave balance. This mandate affects employees at job level 5, comprising software engineers as well as system, senior, and consultant engineers.
The new policies were sent out by email at Infosys and were said to comply with the new hybrid working standards while providing some extra flexibility to workers.
It must be noted that the business imperative is that there is a minimum requirement of 10 days in the office a month. A senior leader at Infosys is of the view that collaboration among team members is enhanced with this hybrid model.
