Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The import of any and all goods from Pakistan has now been lifted ever since the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack India is believed to have carried out. As a result, the Ministry of Commerce has issued an open notification stating there has been a new clause added in the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023 which cancels all direct and indirect transit and port of goods originating from or exported by Pakistan.
National Security in the Official Notification
Considerations for national public safety and policy frameworks are guiding the discipline according to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) order. The notification clarified that goods of Pakistani origin, including those which can be brought into India under normal provisions, but not under specific Indian government exemptions in exceptional situations shrouded by Indian entity clearances.
The appendix called ‘Prohibition on import from Pakistan’ provides assertation not bound by trade code pertaining to restriction of vessel is set to suspend operations for an indefinite amount of time.
