A case of molestation of a female referee cum technical officer of weightlifting has come to light in Patna. Arun Kumar Kesari, former president of Bihar Weightlifting Association and currently chairman of the Planning and Development Committee of the association, has been accused of molestation. The female referee has filed an application in the police station regarding this. A complaint has been lodged by the female referee in Patna’s Kankarbagh police station. The woman said that she was molested in a closed room in the office.

According to the victim woman, when she asked for the job of referee, Arun Kumar Kesari said, ‘If you don’t please me first, I will not name you as referee in any match.’ When the woman protested against this act, she was threatened to ruin her career. The woman told the police in a written complaint that the office room was locked and obscene acts were done to her. In a telephonic conversation with India TV, the victim said, “I somehow escaped from the room. After running from there, I called 112. Arun Kumar Kesari fled from there just before the police arrived.” Let us tell you that the police have registered a case on the complaint of the woman and have started investigating the matter.

Let us tell you that at present the victim does not want to talk on camera. However, the letter which she has complained in writing to the police is present with us. The victim wrote in the complaint letter given to the police, “Since my name was not there as a technical official in the last several state and national competitions, I called Arun Kumar Kesari and asked him on 4 December 2024 at 11.13 pm. On this, he asked me to come to Patliputra Sports Complex located in Kankarbagh on 6 December 2024. The woman then reached the office ofthe Bihar Weightlifting Association located in Patliputra Sports Council. Here Arun Kesari was present alone in the office. After talking for a while, Arun Kumar Kesari said if you do not make me happy in the room, then I will not name you as a referee in any competition.”

The woman further wrote, “Arun Kumar Kesari said that he will ruin my career. After this Arun Kumar Kesari locked the office room and started doing obscene acts and forceful acts with me. Even after I refused, he tried to open my clothes and continued to force himself on me. I somehow managed to escape from there. After this, I immediately informed the police about it. After this, when I took the police team to the office, Arun Kesari had closed the office and fled from there.
