Hypertension: Mobile phones can increase ‘hypertension’! Life can be in danger

[ad_1]

Hypertension is a dangerous disease in which the blood pressure in the arteries increases significantly. When blood pressure rises, the heart has to work harder than normal to maintain normal blood flow through the arteries. Well, there can be many reasons for high blood pressure. But one of these reasons is the excessive use of mobile phones. According to a new study recently published in the European Heart Journal – Digital Health, if you talk on a mobile phone for 30 minutes or more in a week, you may have an increased risk of high blood pressure.

Researchers found in the study that people who talked on the phone for half an hour or more each week had a 12 percent higher risk of developing high blood pressure than those who talked on the phone for less than 30 minutes. The longer people talk on their mobile phones, the more it affects their heart, said study author Jianhui Qin, a professor at Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China. If you talk on the phone for a long time then you will be more at risk of high blood pressure.

The danger can increase up to 25 percent!

Using a mobile phone for more than an hour a day can increase the risk of high blood pressure by up to 25 percent. High blood pressure is a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly half of adults in the United States, ie 47 percent or about 116 million people, suffer from high blood pressure. According to the authors of the research, mobile phones emit radiofrequency energy, which has been linked to increased blood pressure.

If you use more mobile then the risk may increase

A study published in September 2022 found that excessive use of mobile phones is also causing high blood pressure in children and adolescents. However, this research also included activities such as texting and gaming. But a study published in BMC Public Health in November 2022 found the opposite result, linking excessive phone use with lower blood pressure. According to the new research done on this, the risk of hypertension among the users of mobile phones is 7 percent more than those who do not use mobile phones. Additionally, the risk of high blood pressure was 8 percent among those who used their phones for 30 to 59 minutes, 13 percent among those who used their phones for 1 to 3 hours. There was a 16 percent increase in those who used the phone for 4 to 6 hours. 25 percent of those who used the phone for more than 6 hours.
