Heli service is starting in Kedarnath from today, which devotees can now take advantage of. Also, the helicopter fare has been reduced. Yesterday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Kedarghati and conducted an aerial survey of the rain-affected area. After this, he held a review meeting with the officials and gave them the necessary guidelines.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that from Wednesday, i.e. 7th August, helicopter service will be started for Kedarnath Yatra at 25 percent less fare. Also, special attention is being given to starting the pilgrimage on foot soon. He said that the discount given on the helicopter ticket would be borne by the state government of Uttarakhand.

On Tuesday, after reaching Sonprayag, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed all the departments related to the Yatra route and took information about the damage caused by the rain. He also took information about the efforts being made by the departments to restart the Kedarnath Dham Yatra.
Many walkways are closed
The CM further said that the Gaurikund-Kedarnath walking route has been destroyed at 29 places. Also, the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway has suffered a lot of damage. Due to heavy rains in the area, electricity, water lines as well as government properties have been damaged a lot, which should be repaired from the very beginning.
