New Delhi: It has been raining intermittently in many states of the country for the last several days. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain for Himachal Pradesh during the next three days. Apart from this, rain is also expected in Jammu division, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, South West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim, parts of Northeast India. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in Tamil Nadu, Goa. Heavy rain may occur in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands tonight.

The IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rains over parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh this week. Heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places over East Rajasthan. Heavy rains are also likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and East Uttar Pradesh.

IMD has issued a yellow alert for many districts of Maharashtra, including Palghar, Thane, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli, Nanded, Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana. Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal are likely to receive rain with wind speeds of 30-40 km/hr.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in Delhi on Wednesday. A ‘yellow alert’ for light to moderate rain has been issued for the next two days in Delhi. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is around 27 degrees Celsius. After a humid day in the national capital on Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.2 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
