After many years, a video from the Filmfare Awards in 2007 has surfaced online, eliciting nostalgia for a memorable moment between Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. The clip, which has now gone viral, showcases the affectionowing manner in which Jaya embraced Aishwarya into the Bachchan family before her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan.
In the resurfaced footage, Aishwarya is visibly emotional during the award ceremony and even tears up for a few moments. To make things even worse for her, Jaya Bachchan showered praises on Aishwarya, a moment many would say would be priceless. “I am going to be a mother-in-law all over again to a wonderful, lovely girl who has great values, has great dignity and a lovely smile," said Jaya, warming the hearts of everyone in attendance. “I welcome you to the family, I love you,” Jaya finishes her emotional endorsement, eliciting visible tears from Aishwarya and turning heads in the audience. The camera also pans to Amitabh Bachchan, who is sitting beside her, watching the emotional moment unfold.
Jaya Bachchan praises Aishwarya Rai
This is not the first time Jaya Bachchan has spoken lovingly of her daughter-in-law. During one of her previous appearances on ‘Koffee With Karan,’ she was posed the question whether she thought Aishwarya was the perfect fit for their family. She responded, “I think so. I think it's wonderful because she is such a big star herself. But when we all are together, I have never ever seen her push herself, I like that quality that she stands behind, she’s quiet, she listens and she’s taking it all in. Another beautiful thing is she’s fitted in so well. Not just into the family, but she knows that this is family, these are good friends, this is how one is supposed to be. I think she’s a strong lady, she has a lot of dignity.”
Abhishek Bachchan married Aishwarya Rai in 2007 in what was considered a star-studded wedding. The pair has, for the most part, kept a low profile when it comes to their private life, although some recent gossip did suggest that there is possibly some tension between the two. Aishwarya and Abhishek, however, have not commented on these rumors.
