Haryana Police Recruitment 2026: 400 Special Police Officers to Be Hired in Telecommunications Wing

Post

In a major recruitment push to bolster communication infrastructure and law enforcement support, the Haryana Police has announced plans to recruit 400 Special Police Officers (SPOs) specifically for its Telecommunications Wing. The state-level hiring drive is open to former personnel from the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), as well as former constables from the Haryana State Industrial Security Force (HSISF) and Haryana Armed Police Battalions. Aimed at leveraging the disciplined backgrounds and technical expertise of ex-servicemen, this initiative offers a lucrative short-term career opportunity in the state police force.

Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualifications

To qualify for the SPO positions in the telecommunications wing, applicants must meet specific criteria established by the department:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th-grade examination from a recognized board.

Age Limit: Applicants must be between 25 and 50 years of age as of the date of the advertisement.

Service Background: A minimum of 5 years of active service in the Armed Forces or CAPF is mandatory. Priority will be given to candidates with professional experience operating telecommunications equipment, especially those who served in the Signal Corps of the Armed Forces.

Exclusions: Individuals who were dismissed or removed from previous service due to indiscipline, misconduct, or medical unfitness are strictly ineligible to apply.

Posting Guidelines, Tenure, and Selection Process

Selected candidates will be appointed for a tenure of one year or until regular appointments are made to the posts, whichever comes first. Regarding deployment, SPOs will not be assigned to their home police stations, though priority will be given to placing them within their home districts subject to vacancy availability. However, in emergency situations, they may be deployed anywhere across Haryana for short periods.

Unlike standard police recruitments, there will be no written test or physical endurance examination for these posts. Selection will be based on document verification, background checks by district police authorities, and a mandatory medical examination. Furthermore, selected personnel will undergo a specialized 15-day capsule training course to adapt to the operational needs of the police department. Officials noted that the Superintendent of Police (Telecommunications) retains the authority to terminate an SPO's services without prior notice in cases of indiscipline, misconduct, or unsatisfactory performance.
