Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Maurya suspended Sultanpur Project Director Ashok Kumar Singh
Keshav Prasad Maurya has ordered the immediate suspension of Ashok Kumar Singh, Project Director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Sultanpur, and directed that a major inquiry be conducted against him. This action follows a prima facie finding of misconduct unbecoming of a government official, objectionable behavior towards subordinate staff, and disregard for the instructions of senior officers, alongside a failure to properly discharge official duties.
These actions constitute a violation of Rule 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1956. Given the gravity of the matter, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh under Rule 7 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1999, and a major inquiry has been ordered. Clear instructions have been issued to take strict action against officers and employees who display negligence in official work, indiscipline, or apathy in discharging their duties. He stated that public interest and public service are the state government's top priorities. It is the responsibility of every officer and employee to ensure the effective implementation of government schemes and to provide timely, transparent services to the public; negligence or indiscipline at any level will not be tolerated. The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that the primary responsibility of officials is to ensure that the benefits of the 'double-engine' government's public welfare schemes reach the person standing at the very last rung of the social ladder. Strict action will continue against officers and employees who neglect public service, show negligence in official duties, or engage in indiscipline. The suspension of the Sultanpur Project Director is an example of action taken in accordance with this policy.
