Haryana Government’s Big Relief: Get Home Water and Sewer Connections for Just ₹10 a Month Without Office Visits
Accessing essential civic amenities has become significantly easier for residents in Haryana, particularly in Ambala, as the local administration rolls out a consumer-friendly initiative. To assist households facing financial constraints, the Public Health Department has introduced a flexible payment model allowing citizens to secure official water and sewer connections without the burden of heavy upfront costs or tedious office visits.
Flexible Installments Replace Upfront Fees
Obtaining utility connections can often stretch household budgets, but under the revised departmental framework, the overall connection charges have been slashed. While the reduced one-time fee stands at ₹1,500—split into ₹1,000 for drinking water and ₹500 for sewer connectivity—consumers who prefer not to pay the lump sum all at once now have a convenient alternative.
According to Karnaveer Singh, Executive Engineer of the Public Health Department, eligible consumers can opt to pay a nominal installment of just ₹10 per month, which will be seamlessly added directly to their regular utility bills. This eliminates the need for separate transaction hassles or heavy initial expenditures.
Doorstep Service and Departmental Support
To ensure maximum public outreach and eliminate bureaucratic delays, the department has introduced a doorstep delivery model for approvals. Residents no longer need to navigate government offices or stand in long queues to complete paperwork. Instead, departmental employees will visit homes directly to facilitate the connection process and issue approvals.
Authorities have strongly urged all residents who currently lack approved drinking water or sewer connections to take advantage of this streamlined facility. Officials noted that strict compliance measures will be enforced, and unauthorized connections or households failing to regularize their utility setups risk facing disconnections and regulatory action. This citizen-centric initiative aims to bring every household into the formal network while ensuring affordability and absolute convenience.
