As part of security arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day 2026 celebrations, the Faridabad Traffic Police has officially enforced a special traffic advisory. To ensure seamless security protocols and prevent congestion in the national capital, the movement of heavy and medium-sized cargo vehicles, commercial goods carriers, and interstate passenger buses heading toward Delhi will face temporary restrictions and alternative route diversions.

Scheduled Timings for Heavy Vehicle Restrictions in Faridabad

To facilitate full-dress rehearsals and the main Independence Day event, authorities have outlined strict operational hours during which heavy vehicular entry into Delhi will be barred:

Full-Dress Rehearsal Window: Restrictions on heavy vehicles heading toward Delhi will remain active from 8:00 PM on August 12 until 1:00 AM on August 13.

Independence Day Main Event Window: Heavy and medium goods vehicles, along with interstate buses, will be strictly prohibited from entering Delhi starting from 8:00 PM on August 14 until the conclusion of official celebrations on August 15.

Major Border Checkpoints and Alternative Diversion Routes

The traffic regulations apply to all major entry points connecting Faridabad to Delhi. Key border checkpoints under strict surveillance include the Badarpur Border, Palla Border, Karni Singh Shooting Range Border, Surajkund Border, Mangar Chowki, Sikri NH-19, and the Sector-30 Cut along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. To bypass traffic bottlenecks, commercial transport operators are advised to utilize pre-designated alternative routes mapped out before reaching the border perimeters.

Exemptions for Essential Services and Emergency Vehicles

To ensure uninterrupted public utilities and daily supplies, the traffic administration has granted specific exemptions. Vehicles permitted to operate without restriction include:
