In urban agglomerations where wet spells intensify, localized mercury levels could plunge substantially compared to recent peaks that saw eastern districts touching 36 degrees Celsius. State capital Lucknow is projected to record a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius alongside a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius, with intermittent drizzle cooling arterial thoroughfares. Neighboring Kanpur will settle around 33 degrees Celsius, while holy river basin hubs including Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur will observe daytime readings hovering between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius, moderated by sudden convective shower activity and humid wind currents.
High-Alert Zones: Eastern, Central, and Southern UP Districts on Watch
The active weather disturbance is concentrated predominantly across Eastern Uttar Pradesh, while simultaneously influencing peripheral districts in Bundelkhand and Western UP. The primary belt flagged for light to moderate thunderstorm activity includes Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh, Deoria, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Basti, and Sant Kabir Nagar. Additionally, sporadic showers and breezy conditions are anticipated across southern and central pockets covering Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, and Amethi.
