Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Acclaimed poet and songwriter Gulzar has been awarded the 58th Jnanpith Award for the year 2023. He has shown exemplary contributions in the field of arts, which led to the award being presented to him by the President of the country. The award is considered one of India’s most treasured literary achievements.  

Ceremony and President’s Remarks  

Gulzar, now 90 years old, expressed his inability to attend the award function due to health matters. The President wished them well and praised him further for the incredible impact he has had on art throughout the years. She interjected grandeur and majesty upon his unblemished literary style which is still vibrantly visional all over India.  

President’s Statement  

President directed wishes towards Gulzar saying, “I hope he gets to feel his best soon and from then remains fully healthy and active to not only keep to this art but literature and society but the whole country as well.” Along the lines, she said that in very simple words Gulzar’s writing has been a heartwarming poignance to a world sorrowful and horrible one.” She concluded by stating that like his impressionable words, people should strive harder with their quills and pens inspire him everytime.”

The function also gave away recognitions to the award’s shared counterpart, Sanskrit Scholar Jagadguru Rambhadracharya.
