Gujarat Titans (GT) are now on the top of the IPL Points Table after a comfortable 39 run victory against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. KKR has set a target of 199 runs and ended up at 159/8 which is their fifth defeat in this season.

Key highlights:

Gill's Jaw Dropping Knock
GT captain Shubman Gill made brilliant efforts once again by scoring 90 runs of 55 balls which consisted of 10 fours and 3 sixes. Gill reached his third fifty of the season in just 34 balls and fell short of a century. He was caught for 90 by Rinku Singh off Vaibhav Arora.

Sudharshan Accentual Contribution

Sai Sudharsan to continue his terrific form which is now his fifth half century this season. He scored 52 runs off 36 balls which further helped with a partnership of 114 runs with Gill.

Butler's Dominating Performance

Jos Buttler continued expressing his form and scored unbeaten 41 runs of 23 balls at 8 boundaries. His batting came down after his previous performance against Delhi Capitals.

Rahane’s Lone Fight

Rahane's extraordinary effort as KKR's captain saw him emerge as the highest scorer for his side, battling hard to make a 50* off 36 balls, hitting a six and five boundaries. He was dismissed stumped smartly by Jos Butler off a Washington Sundar delivery after scoring 50 runs.  

Bowling Duo Krishna and Khan Excel  

The standout bowlers for GT were Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan, both claiming 2 wickets for 25 runs in their 4 over spells. Their economical bowling was a major reason for KKR losing the match, which was their second in a row this season.  

Match Impact:  

GT consolidates its position on the IPL points table and KKR is further under pressure to turnaround their performance in the upcoming matches after suffering consecutive losses this season.
