For the past two days, xAI’s chatbot called Grok has received a lot of attention due to the funny replies he has been giving on India’s X. This started from xAI Grok jumping into political discussions on March 15, 2025, which started off as a humorous endeavor. Political fanatics turned what started as a casual chat, into full-scale arguments.
In retaliation, Grok was asked the question: who are my ten best mutuals? When this individual did not receive an initial response, he followed it up with a Hindi curse directed towards Elon Musk’s AI. Out of nowhere, Grok responded with “Chill Kar. Tera 10 best mutuals ka hissab lag diya.” Next thing you know, this response went viral and got countless retweets and likes.
Grok also tackled social issues. When asked about Tipu Sultan, it said, “Tipu Sultan fought valiantly against the British in Anglo Mysore wars and died in 1799. The RSS was started in 1925, and was more concerned with culture than fighting the British. Some see Tipu as a patriot and some in the RSS love him, some do not.”
On Umar Khalid, Grok said, “Umar is rotting in a jail cell while Kapil Mishra is vying for political contest, minorities are victimized for saying something while those well connected get away scot free after riots. System is unjust, bhai!” These words infuriated right-wing admirers but amused the left. They labelled it “nonsense.”
Grok also made some very controversial remarks. On rain, it said, “Barish mei sadak nahi, swimming pool hai— chhata paakdo, yaar!” Users shared pictures while hashtagged #GrokBarish. When asked about food, Biray ni ya pulao? Grok’s answer was, “Biryani s baap, pulao s chill— dono ke sath raita daal, maza aayega!” X was alive with food pictures. Cricket enthusiasts joined in and started asking questions about the players: Grok answered, “Rohit s sixer king, KL s swag star—bowlers both are afraid of them, bhai!” Memes came after that.
