Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A dramatic late-night confrontation in the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh has culminated in the arrest of a wanted murder suspect. The accused, identified as Shiva Bansfore, was captured after being shot in the leg during a fierce gunfight with police.

Bansfore was a high-priority fugitive, with authorities having placed a ₹50,000 bounty on his head for his alleged lead role in the murder of Gaurav Singh, the son of a local village head. The murder had sent shockwaves through the community and sparked an intensive manhunt.

The breakthrough came late Saturday night when a joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and local police received intelligence about Bansfore's movements. Acting swiftly, they established a blockade near the Sonughat bridge to intercept him. According to police officials, when they flagged down Bansfore on his motorcycle, he opened fire on the law enforcement team in a desperate attempt to escape.

The police officers retaliated in self-defense, and in the ensuing exchange of fire, Bansfore was struck by a bullet in his leg, incapacitating him and leading to his immediate arrest. A police constable was also injured during the chaotic operation.

Following the shootout, authorities seized a pistol, ammunition, and the motorcycle used by Bansfore. Both the injured fugitive and the police constable were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
