Manipur police reported on Friday that four militants linked to proscribed outfits were arrested during coordinated security operations across three districts on Thursday.

In Bishnupur district, Leishangthem Hiran Singh (40), affiliated with the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG), was apprehended from Maibam Chingmang. Authorities stated he was involved in extorting civilians.

In Imphal East’s Sawombung Pourabi area, security personnel arrested Likmabam Amujao Meitei alias Lakpa (27), a member of the KCP-PSC (Politburo Standing Committee).

Meanwhile, two members of KCP (Taibanganba) were captured from Langthabal Khunou in Thoubal district. They were identified as Loitongbam Boyai Singh (45) and Khumanthem Dhanabir Singh alias Naobi (28).

Arms and Ammunition Seized During Search Operations

Security forces also carried out search operations in Jiribam, Imphal West, and Bishnupur districts, resulting in significant arms recovery.

From Langol Housing Complex in Imphal West, personnel recovered:

2 self-loading rifles and 2 INSAS rifles with magazines (total of 40 cartridges)

2 SMG carbines (without magazines)

8 bulletproof plates, 7 bulletproof vests

Camouflage uniforms and additional tactical gear

In Jiribam district’s Chingdong Leikai, police seized:

3 INSAS rifles with 3 magazines

2 SLR rifles with magazines

From Haotak Awang Leikai (Bishnupur district), officers recovered:

A .303 rifle with magazine and 16 cartridges

One 12-bore cartridge and various other materials

Bunker Dismantled in Kangpokpi District

Additionally, a makeshift bunker was dismantled by forces at Ponlen in Kangpokpi district as part of the anti-insurgency crackdown.
