A 4 kilowatt meter was installed at the MP’s house. To change that meter, 5 to 6 employees of the electricity department arrived with a police force of about 150. During this time, all the policemen had weapons and tear gas guns in their hands. The police team was led by the ASP and CEO of the area.
Only 4 kilowatt meter in a house of 200 yards
The electricity department says that when they had earlier come to the house of the area’s MP, they had to face protest there. Keeping security in mind, they have brought along UP police and Rapid Action Force personnel. MP Ziaur Rahman Barq’s house is built in approximately 200 yards. A two-storey house is being constructed in the front and a three-storey house is being constructed at the back and in such a big house a meter of only 4 kilowatts is installed. A big silent generator is also kept along with the meter. The electricity department says that the meter installed at the MP’s house will be tested in a lab, so that it can be clear whether electricity theft was taking place in the MP’s house or not.
More than 5 crore rupees fine imposed in three months
Let us tell you that in the last 3 months, the police have registered 1250 FIRs in the case of electricity theft in the district. Under this, a fine of Rs 5 crore 20 lakh has been imposed in the case of electricity theft so far. In the last 2 days only 90 FIRs have been registered in Sambhal, out of which electricity theft has been caught from 4 mosques and 1 madrasa. A fine of about 1 crore 75 lakh has been imposed in these 2 days. In the past, large scale electricity theft was caught in mosques-madrasas and houses of Sambhal. After this, the campaign against electricity theft has been intensified. Recently, electricity theft was caught in Nakhasa and Deepasrai areas of Sambhal Sadar area. During this, equipment for electricity theft was found from the mosque.
