Donald Trump Accuses CBS's 60 Minutes of Election Interference and Defamation:

In a post on Truth Social, Trump launched a seething tirade against CBS’s 60 Minutes, claiming that the show's broadcast during the 2024 presidential elections had 'committed fraud'. He alleged that the network is guilty of slander, election collusion, and journalistic malpractice.

Trump asserted that the network's actions in question warrant extreme punishment, such as losing its license to operate a television station. He also stated in a private message on Truth Social, “...60 Minutes… mentions the name “TRUMP” almost weekly in a defamatory and derogatory fashion.” He is currently embroiled in a lawsuit demanding billions in damages for defamation.

Focused on Ukraine and Greenland

Trump attacked two recent 60 Minutes segments, one on the war in Ukraine and the other on Greenland. He further added that their coverage was in complete contradiction to his presidency and foreign policy. “They did not one, but TWO major stories on ‘TRUMP’...falsely, inaccurately, and fraudulently,” he quoted.

Trump again pushed the narrative that the Ukraine conflict would not be a thing if the 2020 election wasn't 'rigged'.

Slandering CBS and Their Vice President Kamala Harris Coverage

Trump went on to blame CBS and its subsidiary, Paramount, for seemingly running a campaign in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris while trampling on his campaign. According to him, the program is disguised as a legitimate news outlet but is a political construct and Bayer يحب and should be regulated.

Trump Proposes Stripes for FCC

In one of his posts, Trump made direct appeals to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) with proposals for their President, Brendan Carr, to step out of character and launch an “unlawful and illegal behavior investigation” on CBS. In his statement, he demanded that CBS be subjected to maximum fines and stripped of broadcasting rights.
