Cyclone Vipha has entered the Bay of Bengal, raising concerns of potential heavy rainfall and strong winds across several Indian states. The cyclone is predicted to bring winds gusting up to 50 kilometers per hour, accompanied by torrential downpours.
This weather system is expected to impact states including West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand, with moderate to heavy rainfall anticipated in these regions. Other areas like Northeast India, Sikkim, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala may also experience varying degrees of rainfall due to the cyclone's influence. The IMD (India Meteorological Department) has issued alerts advising caution for fishermen, urging them to stay away from the northern Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal areas due to the hazardous sea conditions expected.
