Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Local authorities in Uttar Pradesh have prohibited the conduct of the Urs at the dargah of Syed Salar Masood Ghazi in Bahraich District this year. Following this, the dargah management committee has moved to the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court to contest the restriction.
The Proceedings of The Court Along With The Petitioner’s Information
This case has been registered with Waqf No. 19 Dargah Sharif Bahraich. Senior advocate Laalta Prasad Mishra, who is representing the petitioners before the court contended that the Urs has been performed every year after its inception in the year 1375 AD when the dargah built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq was established. Annually, the Urs attracts close to four to five lakh visitors from the rest of India and also from overseas, and that is in the Jeth month.”
In court, it has been claimed that the event was set to take place on the 15th of May. Only, the local authorities have not granted permission and did not provide a clear reason for their decision, leading to the court case. The High Court has asked the Government of Uttar Pradesh to respond, and has scheduled the matter for May 14, the day prior to the hearing.
Origins of Politics
This conflicts with religious sentiments about women in skirts within Islam in India. The dispute focuses on Urs as some Hindu organizations consider Syed Salar Masood Ghazi as an ‘invader’ and not a revered Sufi figure.
Sufism, his shrine, and masjid located at Bahraich are said to have hosted “Neje Ka Mela” for centuries. Those who does not such as masjid his grave plastic yellow flowers suggest him small headstone labeled him a mediator. Still, ancestry disputes are enough to argue over—for example, Nephew of Mahmud Ghaznavi, the Afghan General Accused of the Destruction of Somnath temple in Gujarat.
Nevertheless, some historians also mention that is alleged died in an inconclusive battle with a supposed Raja Suheldev around the age of eighteen, after most battles he was a mere eleven supposed and his supposed divinely ordained uncle at the temple raid. His tomb in Bahraich is believed accommodate mosaic of the Kamadeva built posterior to his death.
