Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A major political firestorm has erupted after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a blistering attack on RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, accusing him and his organization of plotting to dismantle the Indian Constitution and replace it with the ancient, regressive code of the 'Manusmriti'.

The conflict was triggered by recent remarks from Hosabale. The RSS leader reportedly stated that while the Preamble of the Constitution is important, the true "preamble" of the nation is its 'dharma' (a term often translated as righteousness or duty rooted in Hindu tradition). He also noted that the words "socialist" and "secular" were added to the Constitution's Preamble later, implying they were not part of its original fabric.

Kharge seized on these comments, framing them as a direct assault on the foundational values of the Indian republic. In a fiery rebuttal posted on X (formerly Twitter), the Congress chief condemned Hosabale and the ideology he represents.

"The 'Man of the Manusmriti' has once again insulted the Constitution," Kharge wrote, directly linking the RSS leader to the ancient text, which is widely criticized for its rigid caste-based hierarchy and discriminatory laws.

He accused the RSS and BJP of a "deep-rooted conspiracy to end the Constitution" and declared that their "biggest problem" is the document's commitment to social justice and equality for all citizens.

"The Constitution is our preamble," Kharge asserted, forcefully countering Hosabale's statement. "The Congress party will not let this conspiracy of the RSS succeed."

This sharp exchange highlights the deep and ongoing ideological battle in Indian politics. The opposition frequently accuses the ruling BJP and its ideological parent, the RSS, of harboring a hidden agenda to alter the secular and democratic character of the Constitution in favor of a Hindu-centric state. Hosabale's remarks and Kharge's swift, powerful response have brought this fundamental conflict back to the forefront of the national debate.
