Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The Congress leader Nana Patole sparked fresh political controversy by calling Operation Sindoor—India's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack—“a children’s video game.” While speaking to ANI, Patole expressed doubts about the seriousness of the operation and went as far as implying it was executed on the orders of Trump.

“Operation Sindoor Was Stopped on Trump’s Instructions”

Patole went on to say that he remembers Trump claiming numerous times that he warned India and Pakistan to ‘stop trading blows’ and threatened to cut off their business dealings if they didn’t cease fire.

“Operation Sindoor was stopped at his signal. That makes it a game—like those played by children on a computer,” Patole claimed.

Criticism of PM Modi’s Silence and Diplomacy

As for Modi, Patole questioned why the prime minister has not publicly stated anything regarding the identities or capture of the terrorists who orchestrated the attack.

“The sindoor of 26 of our sisters was wiped off. Yet the terrorists remain unidentified and unpunished,” he added.

He not only targeted Modi over lack of action on international matters but criticized the prime minister over his numerous overseas visits, calling out what he views as the point of the trips.

“Why did not a single country stand with India during Operation Sindoor?” he wondered.

Patole further accused Modi of misleading the public, citing the ambiguity surrounding the 2019 Pulwama attack as yet another instance of insufficient government openness.

Political Fallout Likely

Patole’s comments are likely to escalate the already heated conversation around Operation Sindoor, which was initiated in May 2025 following the Pahalgam tragedy. The operation focused on terror infrastructure within Pakistan and PoJK, claiming to eliminate over 100 terrorists. While many have lauded the government’s diplomatic outreach through global delegations, opposition leaders persist in questioning the initiative’s future impact and its overarching transparency.
