The year was 2025, and during the awards, Conan O'Brien decided to roast Drake, throwing in some of his ongoing conflict with Kendrick Lamar. He was making jokes while the ceremony was taking a light turn, and it seems that was the perfect time for O'Brien to take digs at the two famous rappers beef.
As the Oscars began to clock in at two hours long, Conan mockingly stated, “The show is halfway through, and we know what that means. It is time for Kendrick Lamar to walk in and accuse Drake of pedophilia.”
What comes off poorly to some might be considered comedic genius to others, and in this case, everyone in attendance, contestants and spectators alike gasped at what Conan said. The joke did seem to highlight the on-going tension between the two rap giants, so in any case, the message got through.
Conan’s comment about Lamar was taken from the super bowl halftime show where Lamar was performing his diss track, Not Like Us. That is where he called out Drake for being a pedophile that shows interest in minors. That statement goes toward the already heated feud.
One of the beefs that got the most attention in the entertainment world was definitely Drake versus Kendrick Lamar, which has not settled down until today, and in essence, it spans over several years now.
Eluding his ongoing confrontation with UMG, just like in January when Drake inflicted a defect marriage case because of the assumed slander in Not Like Us, his recently concluded a deal with Texas-based iHeartMedia spokesmen over the same argument. It has become clear from the feuds that have gripped the mind and attention of the fans and the public, and one bold comment from Conan surely did lighten the mood of a serious evening, showing the casual comedy that has come to be known as his signature style.
