Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed Samajwadi Party’s national general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav for his casteist comments regarding Vyomika Singh, an Indian Air Force Wing Commander. CM Yogi described it as “parochial thinking,” for which he branded Yadav as a narrow visionary in a post on X accompanied with “an utter disgrace to the Indian Army as well as the national pride.”
“Yogi Adityanath Refutes ‘Army Uniform Has No Caste’”
As bold as Yadav’s statements may be, CM Yogi underlined that the Indian Army functions outside of religion and caste affiliations.
“Armed Forces’ uniforms are not donned and viewed through the prism of caste. Every jawan fights for India, not for any janam patri (birth nation),” he added.
As he blasted Ram Gopal Yadav for his comments, the Chief Minister re-emphasized the same belief that divides nationalism for anti-national vote bank politics.
He said, “This society will dispense justice to this kind of pervert and caste-based attitude of thinking, I am telling you.”
What is Ram Gopal Yadav’s Statement
Former Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav first disclosed the caste affiliations of Singh and others in the armed forces while reacting to MP minister Shah controversial claim about Colonel Sofia Qureshi.“Vyomika Singh belongs to the [caste redacted] community in Haryana, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti is a Yadav from Purnia, let me tell you,” he claimed, illustrating how some officers were treated differently based on assumed affiliations of religion or caste.
Political Outcry
The remark has brought a new wave of criticism towards the SP leader, while BJP leaders are using it to paint the SP as disrespecting military personnel. Both sides of the political divide are expected to increase the rhetorical onslaught related to the issue in the coming days.
