How did she get the role in ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’
In a previous interview with Screen, Shweta Tiwari disclosed the story behind landing the role of ‘Prerna’ in ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki.’ She narrated that TV producer Ekta Kapoor played a joke on her prior to giving out the role. She shared that Ekta first noticed her in the television serial ‘Aane Wala Pal’ which was on DD Metro.

Ekta had summoned her to the office to give her the offer and joked, ‘One day she said, ‘Call Shweta to my cabin, I want to take her case because this cannot happen.’ I was too scared to go and meet her after pack-up. She said, ‘I have heard that you come late to my set. What do you think? We will wait for you?’ Later, she started laughing and said that she wants to see me working in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She said, ‘Prerna is my dream. I want you to play that character.’
