Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A quiet Saturday night in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, was shattered by violence when armed assailants stormed a residence and opened fire, leaving a young man critically injured and his mother also hurt. The shocking incident occurred in the Jungle Ahi Bara locality within Rudrapur town.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Deepak Jaiswal, approximately 26 years old, was sleeping on the ground floor of his house. His mother, Saroj Devi, around 50, was on the first floor. Late in the night, a group of 3-4 unidentified attackers, who reportedly arrived on two motorcycles, forced their way into the home.
Hearing the commotion, Saroj Devi rushed downstairs, where she encountered the intruders. In the ensuing chaos, the assailants opened fire. Deepak sustained a severe gunshot wound to the stomach. His mother was also injured during the attack, though the exact nature of her injuries is still being confirmed – it's suggested she may have been hit by a bullet or injured in the scuffle while trying to protect her son.
The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Family members and neighbors rushed the critically injured Deepak to the district hospital. Given the severity of his condition, he was quickly referred to the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur for advanced treatment. He is reported to be in a critical state.
Upon receiving information, senior police officials, including the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Deoria, Sankalp Sharma, arrived at the scene. An investigation has been launched, and police are actively searching for the culprits. Preliminary inquiries suggest that "old enmity" might be the motive behind this brutal attack. Police teams have been formed to track down and apprehend the assailants.
The brazen nature of the home invasion and shooting has caused fear and alarm among local residents.
