Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Congress was lambasted by its political rival, BJP, after one of its leaders, Amit Malviya, critiqued the Congress's governance on account of a foreigner being assumed a Bangladeshi national only to find out later that he was a Pakistani citizen embroiled in a fake passport scandal. Malviya pointed that during the period when Congress was ruling, there were accusations that Pakistani Muslims were coming into India on self-financed quick trips (tourist visas) and overstaying with little followup for decades.
In his Post on X, Malviya remarked, "It is baffling why, with so many ’cancellations’ coming out of India, under Congress there was such ease to granting and extending Long Term Visa(s) and simply enabling people to ‘live’ in India."

Malviya Alleges “Betrayal” at the Hands of Congress in Terms of Immigration Policy
Malviya also mentioned how these people illegally migrated and settled in the country, gave birth to children, obtained state documents like Aadhaar, and subsequently voted in elections unlike other persecuted distant nationals who due to their foreign status faced immense hurdles bordering on being stateless. He called it a policy of “Iyer code” that is “intentional and methodical” by the Congress regime.
According to Malviya, such attempts decelerate Indian policy, which now strives to improve the country’s demographic shift, but it’s essential to remember these policies do have historical impacts.
ED Suspects Pakistani National of Using Fraud Identity to Reside Illegally in India
As per the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the accused Ahammed Hossain Azad, aged 53, allegedly used a Bangladeshi passport to enter India. He is said to have been in touch with his handlers in Pakistan and made documents for people in India. The ED has proven that he was complicating and facilitating illegal immigration and laundering money.

Azad, as per media reports, gained access to Indian documents such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, and an Indian passport pupil’s visa in 2019. It is reported that he traveled throughout the country and collaborated with various agents who helped him illegally bring Pakistanis and Bangladeshis to diferent countries through secured visas.

Azad was arrested at a Indian and Pakistani border where there were escalacting tensions regards to a recent terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians. In retaliation India said they would no longer issue visas to Pakistan, abrogated the Indus waters treaty, and closed airspace for Pakistani airplanes.
