Ayodhya: The matter of adulteration in the Prasad in Tirupati Balaji temple of Andhra Pradesh had not yet calmed down and now big news has come from Ayodhya in UP. Samples of cardamom seeds being distributed as Prasad in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple of Ayodhya have been sent to a government laboratory in Jhansi for testing.
What is the whole matter?
Samples of cardamom seeds being distributed as prasad at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple have been collected by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department and sent for testing to a government laboratory in Jhansi. The Assistant Food Commissioner has given this information.
The statement of the office in charge of Ram Mandir Trust came out.
Prakash Gupta, office in-charge of Ram Mandir Trust, said, ‘On an average, 80 thousand packets of cardamom seeds are distributed every day as holy prasad. Assistant Food Commissioner Manik Chand Singh said that after a complaint lodged through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS), samples were purchased from the place in Haiderganj where cardamom seeds prasad is prepared. These samples have been sent to Jhansi State Laboratory for comprehensive testing and evaluation.’
What is the Tirupati Prasad controversy?
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu had accused Tirupati Balaji temple’s prasad of being adulterated with animal fat during the NDA legislature party meeting. However, former Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy called it political rhetoric.
The board managing the country’s richest temple revealed on Friday that it had found adulteration of poor quality ghee and animal fat in the samples sent for quality check. The claim of adulteration of laddus with animal fat was made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. After the previous YSR Congress Party government was accused of this issue, former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy called it a political diversion and a fabricated story.
Let us tell you here that no devotee offers Prasad in Ram Mandir, rather cardamom seeds are distributed as Prasad to Ram devotees. The Peda or Rabri Prasad offered in Ram Mandir is prepared by the sevadaar and the priest.
