Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, an Indian sitcom loved by the audiences, has run successfully for over 17 years. However, in 2023, the show underwent some brand damage when a few ex-actors opened up about some professional harshness and pending payment issues.

The Allegations And Modi

When addressing the issues at hand, the show’s creator, Asit Kumarr Modi was quite clearly hurt but stayed calm, and preserved his composure. He reiterated that his relationship with both the actors has never been estranged, and he is always ready to resolve issues whenever they're brought to him. Modi claimed, “I have always been frank and, looked after the show more than my interests.”

Fulfilling The Obligation of Acknowledgement

Without attacking his critics directly, Modi had to tackle the problem by suggesting a counter policy, which, in his view, was constructed in a way that his critics were given undue praise and were handed recognition without Modi altering his previously set standards. “They have helped make TMKOC a success” he said. “Some compartments get derailed, but the whole train continues to roll,” he pondered while likening the show’s continuity to a train.

On The Return of Daya Ben

Fans have raised issues regarding the absence and disappearance of the character Dayaben who was famously portrayed by Disha Vakani. On this subject matter, Modi directly confessed that the sitcom suffered greatly in her absence. He exclaimed in support of his fans, “Daya Bhabhi will be brought back soon” adding that his team will be ready when she decides to come back.

Commitment Towards Audience and Team

Throughout the ups and downs, Modi continues to appreciate the hard work put into entertaining the viewers. As he noted, TMKOC continues to be a success because of the collective effort in preserving the laughter and spirit of the show.
