Lucknow: All types of protests have been banned in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, till January 12. The police have implemented Section 163 (formerly Section 144). In the order issued by the police, it has been said that given the upcoming festival and law and order, Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code has been implemented in Lucknow.
These things were also banned.
Under this, any kind of protest demonstration without permission at any place other than the designated protest site (Eco Garden), shooting with drone cameras in the no-flying zone around government offices and Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister’s residence, Vidhan Bhavan, movement with tractor, tractor-trolley, horse cart, bullock cart, buffalo cart, tanga cart and fire related equipment, flammable substances, lethal substances, weapons etc. will be completely prohibited.
Section 163 will be implemented from Thursday.
In the order issued by Lucknow Police, it has been said that Section 163 Indian Civil Security Code (formerly Section 144 CrPC) is implemented from 14.11.2024 to ensure complete compliance of peace and order during the upcoming festivals Kartik Purnima, Guru Teg Bahadur Martyrdom Day, Black Day, Christmas Day, New Year and various entrance examinations and sit-in demonstrations by various political parties, Indian Farmers Organizations and protesters.
The landlord must get tenant verification done.
According to the order, organizing events without permission within Lucknow limits that may have the potential of affecting law and order, burning effigies of sharp-edged and pointed weapons or at public places, spreading rumors, and disseminating false information through oral, written, electronic, or social media will be prohibited.
No landlord whose house is located in Lucknow will rent out the house without getting the tenant’s police verified. Legal action will be taken for violating the instructions. This order of the police will remain in force till January 12.
