Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : While attending the renowned Cannes Film Festival, Alia Bhatt gave an interview to Brut where she openly shared the emotional and personal transformations that came with motherhood.
Alia mentioned how she feels an emotional connection to her child even when she is not physically present. In her own words: “I am here but my heart is at home because my daughter is at home. I would say, it just feels that I am never alone, but the thought and the presence of her is always with me.”
"The world of an individual becomes a child's world” is Alia substantiating her point below on how far reaching the emotional spectrum is due to the connection forged with people under different circumstances. “It's everything from being an inward world to an outward world to that one person… It will affect you as if they are your child's tears,” mentioning the outward expression of sentiment reflects a shift in mindset.
Motherhood's Impact on Her Career
Regarding whether becoming a mother has impacted her choosing a role, Alia admitted to the change, but also said she could not put it into words just yet. “I think there is definitely a lot more empathy, your heart is just wide open. I don’t know how I have chosen my roles differently, or how I am going to take a path to it,” she said. “I just also don’t think that I am the same person.”
Alia went on to describe an identity shift that is very deep. “Post being a mum, I think a lot will change….There is a person who is just gone. I was like who? Who am I? Who is this new person? Let’s get to know her a little bit.”
A Cultural and Fashion Statement at Cannes
To finish her appearance at Cannes, Alia Bhatt put on a Gucci saree with crystals which was nothing less than eye-catching. The saree and the crystals blended Indian tradition with global sensibilities, paying homage to her roots while also projecting her rising global stature.
