Amid all this, Alia Bhatt has come out with a post on her social media praising Indian soldiers, albeit heavily dividing the netizens with her controversial timing.
Alia Pays Tribute After Days of Silence
She posted after days of silence, which came after the India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement. She observed how Indian soldiers specifically protect citizens during late night hours when they are at peace, describing an unsettling feeling in the air where nothing is moving and forces a deep breath. She echoing her own thoughts said:
“Those few nights feel eerie in silence. The anxiety lingers with the thought that our soldiers are standing guard. That’s not just bravery. It’s sacrifice.”
In her emotionally charged post, Alia also paid her tribute to the soldiers and their families mourning the Operation casualties, which she tied back to Mother’s Day and the gratitude of the nation.
Backlash and Allegations of Public Relations Manipulation
Regardless of the prevailing opinion, the post sparked backlash. A section of the public assumed the timing of Alia’s statement to be a PR tactic, presuming it to be just before her anticipated Cannes 2025 appearance. Social media users brought up the Shia Islamic heresy indicating her motives are questionable because of her nonparticipation during the operation and her mother Soni Razdan’s controversial post prior.

Defending the actor, some netizens stated that her message, regardless of the timing, still echoes concern and appreciation.
