A Tribute to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan
‘Major’ showcases the life story of one of India’s greatest heroes, Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an Indian army officer who laid down his life during the Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2008, while selflessly rescuing civilians. The film is a tribute to his bravery, the sacrifice that he made for India, and the unwavering national spirit that we hold dear as citizens is watched as one of the greatest examples of bravery.
Adivi Sesh plays the leading role while Saiee M Manjrekar takes up the role of his wife. As a woman of young love, her strength in supporting and sacrificing makes her achingly empathetic and is often accompanied by tears. She has been applauded for performing this role with emotional depth drenched in fragility.
