Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The recent ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan has brought a temporary quiet to the increasingly hostile border region. Regardless, concern had circulated, spanning from the general public all the way to celebrities, during the period of high conflict. One such voice to chime in was TV actor Aly Goni, who voiced concern on social media regarding the safety of his parents in Jammu during the recent drone strikes.

Aly Goni Shares Emotional Post from Vietnam

While working in Vietnam, Aly Goni commemorated on Instagram, sharing his feelings during the conflict. Combining images with his words, Aly stated on Instagram that his family resides in Jammu and has to live through frequent drone assaults and bombing. “I'm stuck outside India and I'm having trouble with sleep. My famiy is under one of the attacks that occurred yesterday in Jammu. People who are watching have made a spectacle of this, while women and men are being kept as hostages in their own homes,” he captioned along with multiple pictures of his family.


Facing Trolls for His Opinion

Aly's post became the subject of much ridicule and scorn. One such instance was when during his interview with a troll, where he told a troll who abused him for saying restrict my comments that “Send it in Urdu, you might not have understood it in English.” Many who came across that statement branded him as racist.

Aly Goni Responds to Trolling, Refuses to Back Down

Regardless of the trolling, Aly chose to not back down from his stance. He further explained his position in a post he shared on X (formerly Twitter) saying:

“People can hurl as much abuse as they want. You can throw insults at me, and I don’t mind, as long as I continue to wish peace for my state, my family, and my country. This is my opinion and it will not change.”

Peace Is Personal, Not Just Political

Aly Goni’s worries are engrained in reality because his family members live in a conflict zone. It reflects the sentiment that many people have, seeing national security not as a political issue, but as something that endangers their family.

Earlier, this week, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also brought to light the necessity of Pakistan adopting a more responsible attitude towards the ceasefire.
