Terrorist attack on Gurudwara in Kabul, two killed, many people trapped

Kabul, 18 June (H.S.). Two people have been confirmed dead in the terrorist attack on the gurdwara in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Many people are trapped inside the gurdwara. Some people have been admitted to the hospital. An atmosphere of panic has been created in the area after the explosions took place inside and outside the campus. The terrorist organization Islamic State is suspected to be involved in the attack.

According to the information, armed gunmen attacked Karte Parwan Gurdwara Sahib in Kabul on Saturday morning. These people opened fire, in which sixty-year-old Sikh devotee Savinder Singh died on the spot. Another person has also died. Two people injured in the firing were taken to the hospital. After the firing, people started hiding out of fear to save their lives, then panic was spread by making four explosions inside and outside the gurudwara. The blasts caught fire in the gurudwara and several vehicles were badly damaged.

Gurnam Singh, the president of the Gurudwara, the victim of the terror attack, said that at least 25 people were injured in the incident. Dozens of people are hiding around the Gurudwara complex to save their lives. Due to the blasts, some shops adjacent to the Gurudwara have also caught fire. This is not the first incident of attack on a gurdwara in Kabul. In October last year also, unidentified gunmen attacked and ransacked the gurdwara. Meanwhile, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has expressed concern over the attack on the holy gurudwara in Kabul. Along with this, it has also been said to monitor the situation closely. Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said that India is concerned about the entire development.
