Shahrukh Khan was the first choice for 1942: A Love Story!
Vidhu Vinod Chopra (Vidhu Vinod Chopra Movies) recently talked to Kellogg School of Management. Where the filmmaker told, ‘Shahrukh Khan has a history with me. When I was making 1942: A Love Story, I had seen his (Shah Rukh Khan) work. Renu (Vidhu’s ex-wife) had edited the film Mem Saheb, in which she had a small role. Then I offered him the role, I was the first person to offer him the role. He was not a star then.
Anil Kapoor was cast in place of Shahrukh
Vidhu Vinod Chopra did not tell in his conversation why Shah Rukh Khan (Shah Rukh Khan Movies) did not accept the role. But after Shahrukh Khan, this role went to Anil Kapoor. According to entertainment reports, Madhuri Dixit was offered the role opposite Anil Kapoor in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film ‘1942: A Love Story’ before Manisha Koirala. But things could not work out with Madhuri Dixit also. Let us tell you, Jackie Shroff has also been seen in an important role in ‘1942: A Love Story’ along with Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala.
