Jealousy and personal dispute spark fear of US police in California dance club shooting

California: California An elderly Asian immigrant shot and killed 11 people during a Lunar New Year celebration at a dance club. According to the preliminary investigation of the police, enmity or personal dispute could be behind the incident.

The incident was carried out by a 72-year-old man

Hu Can Tran, 72, began shooting men and women in their 50s, 60s and 70s with a semi-automatic pistol in Monterey Park in Los Angeles on the night of January 21. The accused also shot a person in the parking lot.

According to US officials, after killing 11 people, the suspect also shot himself. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said Monday that Tran fired 42 rounds in the attack. “We are probing the cause of this tragic incident,” he told reporters.
