Canberra, 26 January (Hindustan). Australia Day is celebrated on the Republic Day of India i.e. 26 January itself. Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has congratulated the Republic Day of India reminding this coincidence.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said in his message that January 26 is a day of double happiness for the Indian community in Australia. On this day people are celebrating the Republic Day of India, while the National Day of Australia is also being celebrated. Referring to this coincidence, he has given greetings and best wishes on the Republic Day of India. He said that this similarity in the national festivals of both India and Australia gives us an opportunity to celebrate the depth of our friendship. This day reminds us that both the countries have to further strengthen their ties and move forward towards their shared future.

In his greeting message, the Australian Prime Minister wrote that this day is a day to honor India’s rich culture and impressive achievements. It is a day for all those with Indian heritage to unite around their shared love and shared belief. He wrote that India has made extraordinary progress in the seven decades since its independence.
