Virender Sehwag, the man who single-handedly formed a formidable opening partnership along with Sachin Tendulkar at the top of the Indian order, has been limelight again but this time not for his exploiting seams and swing. Micro blogging sites were on fire on Thursday going by some media reports that hinted at some trouble in paradise between the retired cricketer and his wife Aarti. Sehwag whose approach to ((Test)) cricket was characterised by fearless batting is now receiving marriage breakdown allegations after a newspaper published that the couple might be parting ways.
Sehwag, who represented India in 104 Test and 251 ODI matches, tied the knot with Aarti in December 2004. The couple has two sons, Aryavir was born in 2007 and Vedant was born in 2010. But, as found out by Hindustan Times, the couple has been doing the rounds of different cities sitting in the same car for several months there are anticipation of divorce soon.
Till date, there are no comments from both Virender Sehwag or Aarti in this regard. In as much as they have responded to some of these rumors, updates will follow as the furore dies down.

The social networks were abuzz when the reports about the couples intending to separate flooded the media. A number of his fans when bored noticed that Sehwag has not been posting any recent pictures with Aarti. Aryavir’s innings put him very close to emulating his father’s career-best score of 319, which should be familiar to fans of Sehwag’s playing days.
Using the twitter handle @YUVSTRONG13, Sehwag took a dig at Aryavir over a lost opportunity to take a shot at a special gift – Ferrari! In November 2024, Sehwag posted on X (formerly Twitter):
"Well played Aaryavir. Missed a Ferrari by 23 runs. But well done, keep the fire going and may you get many more daddy hundreds doubles and triples.
The post was a reference to a comment the now 37-year-old Sehwag made almost a decade ago. Promising to buy a Ferrari for each of his sons in a 2015 interview to the cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle, Sehwag had declared that none of they would ever be able to score a 319-plus innings to emulate his record in the match. The recent failure that Aryavir has received back to the father son duo banter kicked up, fans appreciated the talent and skills shown by the new born cricketer, while Sehwag was all praises for the kid.
Sehwag’s Storied Legacy
Nevertheless, people often gossip about Sehwag’s personal life but his cricketing career is unstoppable. One of the most aggressive and successful openers of his time, Sehwag was a linchpin of Indian cricket in the 2000s.
